Donut Worry in Newnan Adds “NOT FAYETTEVILLE” Banner After Confusing Inspection Post

NEWNAN, Ga. — After a rough inspection report circulated online last week for Donut Worry on North Glynn Street in Fayetteville, the Donut Worry in Newnan has taken extra steps to make sure customers know they are not the same store.

By Wednesday morning, a large banner reading “NOT FAYETTEVILLE” was hanging across the front of the Newnan storefront.

The confusion started when a February 24 follow-up inspection for the Fayetteville location showed a score of 52, citing violations that included mold-like growth on croissants, improper food storage, and heavy debris buildup. The report was shared widely on social media through local food safety pages.

Soon after, the Newnan location said it began receiving phone calls and comments from concerned customers asking about the low score.

“We just sell donuts,” one employee said. “We don’t sell mold.”

Store staff said the banner was meant to be clear and simple. Several customers were seen taking photos of the sign, and at least one driver reportedly slowed down to give a thumbs up.

The Newnan store emphasized that inspection scores are location-specific and reported individually by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

As of now, the banner remains up. Employees say it will stay “as long as the internet needs reminding.”
