Barbie Beach Interview

If you’ve been living under a Barbie Dream House, you may have missed the news that the owners/creators/artists behind Barbie Beach have moved to the other side, the great light, the barbie beach vacation in the sky. And while we have heard great (and hilariously unique) things about the creators of Barbie Beach, this article is focused on the artwork that has been displayed in Turin for what feels like my entire (35 year) life.

I grew up living in Senoia, with the majority of my extra curricular activities being in Newnan/Peachtree City area. Needless to say, I have driven by Barbie Beach more times than I’ve been through a McDonald’s drive thru. And while you may drive through there now and think to yourself “I barely had time to see anything!” You need to remember you’re living in roundabout times, but I grew up where every roundabout was either a 4 way/3 way/death loop stop. I grew up with plenty of time to sit in traffic and be woo’d by Beach Barbies Bums.

The world recognizes Barbie Beach and it’s impact. Even a Facebook Group exists in it’s honor with over 6k followers.

Explaining the beauty of Barbie Beach is a senseless goal. Barbie Beach has to be experienced and you get to decide: is this art or is this gross? Without experiencing art, we can’t have the chance to be inspired. So, the images and videos in this article are a collection of some of the best of Barbie Beach, a place we fully consider to be ART and we hope a family member will keep it going:

Barbie Beach is undoubtedly Turin’s strangest and most unexpected roadside attraction. Naked Barbie and Ken dolls have been lounging around in a 6-foot-by-4-foot stretch of sand for more than 15 years. They’re arranged in an ever-changing display that matches various current events, like the Final Four playoffs, the Olympics and even a royal wedding.

We went on Friday for memorial day and it was set up for memorial day. It was a cute display and nice to see. It’s on the side of the road and you can park a little past it and walk down.
I don’t recommend driving too far out of you way to see this, but if you’re passing by, definitely stop for a few minutes.

Love barbie beach! though there is some construction going on and you might have to walk a tiny bit to see the beach. Used to pass here all the time and sad to see the owner memorial recently, RIP 💔

I’ve grown up driving past barbie beach regularly, and as a teen ended up driving past it almost weekly to go to therapy of all places. it’s really not an “attraction” or a tourist spot, please don’t go thinking that’s what it is. the family/woman that decorated and put the barbie’s and ken’s in fun or quirky situations did it for the kids like me to call out to our parents as we drove past. “mom look! they’re riding dinosaurs!” and “the barbies are pole vaulting this time!!” . i cannot express what a weird, deep part of my childhood this place is but it is something i will tell my friends and family about forever, and something i will always look for when i’m driving through that funky little town. mostly just came here to say thank you to the family that kept this going for so long and i hope it can stay running despite everything. RIP❤️

To each his own it’s unique strange I thought it was pretty cool. If your not into it don’t stop but if you like weird attractions check it out .I don’t see it being perverted if you think so donate barbie clothes I’m sure he’ll use them .

Cute road side stop. We were pulling a trailer so we parked just down the road at an abandoned antiques store and walked back. Cute, creative, and amusing.

We pass this place often while driving, and finally decided to stop. My children really enjoyed looking at the display. And we love how they change it up depending on the holiday. Something so simple, can provide so much joy. Thank you !!

The best stop ever! But seriously it was amazing. We were looking for small fun things to break up a 4000 mile road trip and this was perfect! We stopped, took five minutes to read the story and enjoy this tiny roadside delight and were on our way again.
