BREAKING: Newnan House Motel Announces Shocking Return Under New Management
From eye sore to WE SOAR, The Newnan House Motel is finally coming back to Newnan, GA and in fabtabulous fashion! For those of us proud of the heritage and history surrounding Coweta County, this is considered a gigantic win! After all, what kind of city keeps up confederate soldier statues but not the empty, dingy, disgusting leftovers of Newnan House Motel? Are we really going to debate the shine of trash?
The Newnan House Motel in Newnan, GA, closed in 2009 after a fire destroyed part of a building. It was later considered an “unpopular eyesore” and faced requests from the Newnan City Council to be examined for violations of the county’s unsafe structures act. The front building was eventually demolished down to its foundation, and the remaining buildings were boarded up. The motel was finally torn down in January 2022.

Leave our buildings alone! It’s been a tough last couple of years for those who celebrate failures/history due to the removal of Newnan House Motel AND the New Sprayberry’s location (also known as Gooch Town) that was replaced by a QuikTrip. Do we really need gas when we could have empty stuff to look at that is within walking distance? Right now, the only empty thing I get to stare into is my own reflection in the mirror… I say enough. And finally, the new management of Newnan House Motel, have heard my cries.
Diane and Johnny Dixieland, the renowned owners of the former Dixieland Fun Park in Fayetteville, are bringing the magic of amusement parks to a city near us (our city–they’re bringing it to Newnan)!
Newnan House Dixieland has officially been announced for the former Newnan House Motel location!

The Spirit of Southern Fun Returns! Diane & Johnny Dixieland Announce “Newnan House Dixieland” Theme Park on Historic Motel Grounds
Newnan, GA – Diane and Johnny Dixieland, local entrepreneurs and preservation enthusiasts, are proud to announce the upcoming opening of Newnan House Dixieland, a one-of-a-kind Southern-themed amusement park, heritage museum, and BBQ restaurant (of course), built on the infamous site of the former Newnan House Motel.
Slated to open in Fall 2026, the new park promises a mix of vintage charm, family entertainment, used syringes, stains, hookers wigs, and jars of weird red stuff—all rooted in the proud traditions of Coweta County.
“We wanted to preserve the spirit of the old Newnan House Motel and give it a new purpose,” said Diane Dixieland. “This park is our love letter to Newnan. But also, like, a manifesto that a serial killer would write on the back of cereal boxes. Not even name brand cereal, either.”
Newnan House Dixieland will feature a one-of-a-kind blend of attractions:
- Sketchy Parking Lot Karts – Offering a choice of all your favorite dangerous rides (windowless van, Harley Davidson with your uncle, a car from Pimp My Ride), hit top speeds and go bumper to bumper!
- Cable Porn VR – See if you can fight your way through the static to see a boob!
- Vending Machine Roulette – Will you win an expired Twinkie or condom with holes in it? Play to find out!
- Bedbug Bounce – The only thing higher than the bedbug count are your jumps!
- Petting Barn with Newnan PD – Pet customers before they’re taken off to prison!
- Also check out the Black Mold-er Coaster, Mystery Meat Slip ‘n Slide, Roach-deo, Blood or Salsa, Band-Aid Ball Pit, and gift shop!
The old motel’s original sign and lobby will be restored and repurposed as the Park Welcome Center and Photo Op, featuring lovable interactive characters Buster the Mouse-Rat-Gerbil Mutant and Sebastian the Poop in the Parking Lot!
