BREAKING: “Wings & Thongs” Restaurant Sparks Debate in Newnan

NEWNAN — A proposed new restaurant called Wings & Thongs is already stirring debate across the community weeks before opening its doors.

Some residents say the concept is simply a blatant knockoff of the long-established Wings & Things brand, accusing the owners of “changing one letter and hoping nobody notices.” Others, however, say their concern isn’t originality but it’s the restaurant’s controversial dress code.

According to the owners, every employee at Wings & Thongs will be required to wear a thong while working.

“People are misunderstanding,” said one owner during a brief statement. “You can’t actually see the thongs. They’re completely implied beneath normal clothing. It’s the hottest implied wardrobe possible.”

The explanation has done little to calm critics. Several residents have taken to social media arguing the concept is “too inappropriate for Newnan,” while others say the outrage is overblown given that, technically, no thong will ever be visible.

City officials say the restaurant’s permit application is still under review, though one planning staff member admitted the situation is “a first.”

“If the thong is never visible,” the official said, “it’s unclear what exactly we’d be regulating.”

Meanwhile, curiosity about the restaurant continues to grow, with many locals admitting they plan to visit at least once if only to confirm whether the thongs are truly as implied as promised.
