Police Raid LEGO
DEVELOPING STORY — NEWNAN
A recent police raid at the Atlanta Brick Co has taken an unexpected turn after authorities confirmed that hundreds of seized “foot-destroying devices” were, in fact, standard LEGO bricks.
The raid, carried out late January, initially targeted what officers described as “small, colorful hazards capable of causing extreme pain when stepped on unexpectedly.” Investigators believed the items may have been part of a larger operation involving “household terrorist WMDs.”
According to officials, the bricks were collected as evidence and transported off-site for testing. Early reports suggested the objects were “engineered with sharp corners and a near-invisible nighttime profile,” raising concerns about their intended use.
However, after further review, authorities determined the items were legally sold children’s toys with no enhancements.
Police confirmed the LEGO bricks have since been returned to the store.
“We always err on the side of caution,” one officer said. “But at this time, there is no evidence these bricks were designed specifically to destroy feet. That appears to be… an awful coincidence. We sorry.”
Store owners say they are relieved the matter has been resolved and have resumed normal operations. Though many are encouraging the LEGO company to sue, so they can finally afford a Lord of the Rings LEGO set.
