As his final week as principal at East Coweta High School comes to an end, Steve Allen has announced a brand new tradition called “Graduation Queen.”
The Graduation Queen will be voted on by seniors and crowned during graduation before slow dancing with every single graduate one by one during the ceremony.
“Yes, all of them,” Allen confirmed while adjusting a playlist labeled “Formal But Fun.”
School officials estimate the added dance portion could extend graduation by roughly 6 hours depending on song requests and emotional breakdowns.
Parents are confused. Seniors are campaigning aggressively. One student has already promised free Chic Fil A trays in exchange for votes.
Steve Allen called the event “a beautiful celebration of closure and rhythm.”
