BREAKING: Newnan’s QuikTrip has unveiled a new line of locally themed collector Slurpee cups, starting with the highly anticipated Sheriff Lenn Wood Edition.
The limited-edition cup features Sheriff Wood’s smiling face, and the phrase “Protect, Serve, and Stay Hydrated.”
QuikTrip officials say the cup is just the first in a planned series celebrating Coweta County personalities. Future cups may include local politicians, roundabouts, and Newnan Coweta Scanner Traffic.
To sweeten the deal, QuikTrip announced that 30% of all proceeds will go directly to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office to help purchase a new horse. Officials say the current horse is exhausted from carrying deputies through every parade, festival, ribbon cutting, and community event within a 50-mile radius.
The new horse, tentatively named Slurpee Justice, is expected to arrive later this summer.
Collectors have already begun lining up, with some hoping the cups will eventually become more valuable than Beanie Babies, while others are simply excited to finally drink a blue raspberry Slurpee while making direct eye contact with the Sheriff.
