Coweta County Teachers Get Back Their Smoke Breaks
After a particularly tough back-to-school season, the Coweta County School System has announced a new initiative designed to support teacher morale.
Beginning immediately, all CCSS teachers will be allowed a five-minute smoke break every period.
Officials say the breaks are intended to give educators a brief opportunity to “step outside, stare into the distance, and question every decision that led them here.”
Teachers who don’t smoke will reportedly be provided with a cigarette anyway, because apparently everyone needs something to hold while they decompress.
“Education is about the children,” one exhausted teacher reportedly said. “But sometimes the children are the reason you need the cigarette.”
